Key Safes and Cabinets

Key Safes and Cabinets

Securikey key control systems employ a unique method of identification to enable the customer to select the correct product for their particular application. The cabinets are graded for both strength and security from Bronze (a unit designed for key control) through to Gold (a high security cabinet ,designed using safe technology) The Bronze range is best suited to applications where security of the contents are not the paramount issue, but control, audit and fast access are. These units are sized from 20 to 600 keys and are wall mounted. Silver cabinets are manufactured from 2.5mm steel plate and whilst have all the features of our bronze range are far heavier in construction and use a Euro profile locking mechanism , this enables the unit to be integrated within existing master key suites in the building. Cabinets from the Gold range are sized from 60 to 300 keys and are best described as a wall mounted safe with a steel slab door and VDS approved safe lock. Used extensively throughout the world where key security is a major issue.

Fire Safety – What you need to know!

Fire Safety – What you need to know!

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force on the 1st October 2006. The regulation amends or replaces 118 pieces of legislation, the most significant being the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) (Amendment) Regulations 1999. The aim of the regulation is to rationalise and consolidate legislation into one simpler piece, leading to a safer workplace. It applies to all workplaces in England and Wales. Workplaces within Scotland now fall under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.

The legislation places the responsibility of fire safety on the employer or ‘responsible person’ for that premises or building.

The ‘responsible person’ will need to ensure that a fire risk assessment has been conducted to establish the risk of fire and then take steps to remove or reduce them.

Fire certificates, which were issued under the previous regulations, will be abolished and become invalid however inspections will still continue. Failure to comply with this regulation may lead to legal action resulting in a fine or up to two years imprisonment.
